My name, as well as: Randolph, Chung, Row, Roett, Freeberg and Bowlings were posted and we were sent to Yokohama. We boarded a ship that took us to Portland, Oregon and borded a train there to Fort Dix, to be discharged.

I as millions of men was called into service to fight for our country in World War II. I was a teen age boy, others married with children and single men as well. The sacrifices of some of these men were far greater than that of a teenage home sick boy.
